Called to the ministry fresh out of college, Pastor Sonia lends unique insight, realness, and a relevant perspective to her teaching ministry. She understands the plight of living in America and chasing what we term “The American Dream,” but she deliberately laid down her ambitious, self-centered goals to answer the call of God to pastor and do the work of ministry.
Because of her diligent obedience, she has had various experiences working with inner-city youth, college students, singles, and adults in many facets of ministry. Her prophetic and anointed teaching ignites, rekindles, and awakens the spark of God within people to fulfill their kingdom destiny.
Pastor Sonia started her journey in Griffin, GA where she was born and completed High School. Then, she martriculated to Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama where she graduated with her BS degree in Language Arts Education, which afforded her to teach Literature/Grammar in Middle Grades and High School for seven years in the Public School System. Sonia entered the ministry in 1992 where she served as an outreach worker in her local church for 3 years. In 1996 she was licensed and ordained by Bishop Eddie L. Long of The New Birth Missionary Baptist Church located in Decatur, Georgia where she served in several areas of ministry. She is a 1997 honors graduate of Oral Roberts University with a Master’s degree in Practical Theology. After graduating from ORU, she served as the Assistant Pastor at Good Samaritan Full Gospel Baptist Church for two years and served and trained under her father Pastor Chester Milner at United Christian Fellowship for an additional two years. Currently, she serves as Adjunct professor at Beulah Heights Bible College in Atlanta, GA where she teaches Principles of Organization and Administration, Christian Education, and co-taught a Marriage and Family course with her husband. Sonia is also the Associate Pastor and Co-Founder of Kingdom Tabernacle Christian Assembly in Austell, Georgia. This is a new and exciting church with a Kingdom Vision that desires to demonstrate the authentic power of God in salvation, healing, and deliverance from demonic forces.
In the Spring of 2005, Sonia published her first book entitled Searching to Fill the Void. This book is targeted to female audiences of all cultures who face issues of longing to be loved, finding purpose and ultimate fulfillment in life. She is also a dynamic teacher and prophetic preacher of the gospel.
Sonia is married to Mr. Shawn Michael Adams of Dallas, Texas, who is the Senior pastor of Kingdom Tabernacle Christian Assembly. She proudly calls her husband pastor, lover, and friend. They reside in Lithia Springs, Georgia with their sons, Solomon and Simeon Michael Adams, the joys of her life.
